Awesome beach with action waves and rocks to scamble on; tides are swift and changing, especially under the footbridge, so watch kids carefully. Parking rarely full, if one walks from end of lot, even in August. Stunning and fun and empty off season

This is a loooong beach and sheltered cove. The waves are gentle and the shallow water extends far from the beach. The tidal pools inside the sand bars warm up quick and make for some cool pools for the very young. Some good shells and rock piles make for an interesting experience.

Despite the Rockport Town selectmen gauging the Long Beach residents in rents and mistreating them~ this is the best beach in Cape Ann

It was 5 minutes away from our rental cottage; nice place, quiet, water not too cold; a great New england best keep secret, Nothing to compare to Good Harbour Beach

Beautiful water!!! So clear. Very clean beach with relatively shallow ocean water. Not rocky so easy for walks or runs. Little seaweed. No garbage cans or restrooms.

Plenty of beach on a protected ocean cove for early birds and residents on a hot day...only limited by parking. Families spend the day, paddle boarding or snorkeling for hermit crabs. Friendly and clean, tides change it tremendously so don't settle too close to the water at low tide or you'll be chased! A truly nice beach!!

There are no words to describe this place. Take your camera and just start taking pictures, between the boats in the cove and the people on the beach it's just gorgous

We came to this beach when we were turned away from the parking lot at Good Harbor Beach. The beach is really small and crowded at high tide, but was great for boogie boarding and surfing. There is a motel at the entrance to the beach, but there isn't a restroom at the beach. There is a restroom in the... More

Long beach is a fantastic location for kids of all ages. You can walk to Pebble beach that's two beaches north from Long Beach and at very low tide can walk to Good harbor. Many times on the weekend, Good harbor closes down early except for residence permits, but Long beach will still have parking. Beautiful sand and a great... More

Long Beach's only public entrance is at the end of Rockport Road. There is approximately 20 houses for rent directly on the beach and maybe about 40 more with in walking distance. Cape Ann Motor Inn is on the beach and is the only hotel/motel rental available on Long Beach. This amazing beach begins in Gloucester, Ma and ends in... More
