A treasure for we Greenfield locals! Hiking with my dog is my all time favorite activity, and this is my favorite place to do it!

When people are new to the Greenfield area, one of the first places I take them is Poet's Seat Tower. Stroll or drive to the tower's base and climb to the second or third level and feast your eyes on the panorama that unfolds below. Greenfield sits in a protected bowl. The Berkshires rise on the west edge of town;... More

This stone tower had existed for nearly a century. It's easy to access with a simple drive and plenty of free parking at the tower. It's not handicapped accessible. There are several flights of cement stairs and each plateau offers a nice view of town. There is a fun metal spiral staircase that leads to the very top. There you... More

Worth the hike and climb even in drizzly and cloudy weather. Limited parking. Each of the 4 levels provides a unique perspective.

We found this wonderful spot outside Greenfield, MA, completely by accident. We decided to get off the freeway and take the back roads to Amherst on our way to visit Emily Dickinson's family estate. What a treasure to find Poet's Seat Tower! Free . . . and definitely worth the side trip!

Poet's site Tower is a great place to sit and contemplate the beauty of the region. I like to go alone, contemplate and think about life ... Worth at least a quick visit.

An out of the way place for hiking, or just viewing the town of Greenfield. Not at all crowded, and one can climb to the top of the tower easily. There seem to be plenty of hiking trails and some benches where one could picnic.

I cycled up during a bicycle tour of the Deerfield Valley. The views are outstanding and the general vibe, pleasant. There was some littler but generally clean. I give it 5 stars because the cycle up was challenging and the view was well worth it. I understand that hiking trails in the area are also worthwhile.

We love to tell visitors to visit the tower. We walk up the driveway or hike trails as often as we can. It's beautiful to look at any time of day or season
