Tanglewood is a feast for all senses... the location itself simply glorious, Nature is present everywhere and visual joy is matched by clean open surroundings as well as the beautiful music that fills the air. A first visit, but definitely not the last.

Tanglewood is a memorable experience, either there for the first time, a habituate, or returning after many years, as I was with my wife for the first time. Plan for atleast a day, ot two; a long weekend would be great. Prime, of course, is...More

Have returned year after year for their wonderful matinee concerts. Always take our own picnic & sit on the lawn. Highly recommend.

I've gone to Tanglewood for many years. It's a consistently enjoyable experience. Although the acoustics in the shed offer a superior listening experience, I buy a lawn ticket and can hear the music quite well. The way to maximize your Tanglewood experience is to get...More

This is one of the great music venues in the country. The grounds are gorgeous and the music experience is excellent. We saw James Taylor on the 4th and I was impressed with how smoothly the parking, food availability and flow of crowds across the...More

An incredibly bucolic venue for listening to music. Tanglewood is the sumer home to the Boston symphony and the Pops. Bring a picnic dinner (pack your own or buy from many of the local stores) and relax on the beautifully manicured lawns and listen to...More

Doesn't get any better than the BSO performing at Tanglewood. The orchestra and chorus were outstanding.

It just gets better. The beauty of the property (see photo), the festive mood of the people (photo) and, of course, the music (photo). We used to schlep the chairs, the blanket and the food and drinks and hang out on the lawn for the...More

Extremely enjoyable place for a concert. We had great weather. Since you can carry anything in with you, wish we would have packed more extensive food and drink. Also a short table.

Hubby and I have always wanted to see a show at Tanglewood and have always wanted to see James Taylor. This 4th of July we checked both of these off our bucket list. Tickets for the lawn we're only $25. This place is so beautiful....More

Food is available for purchase at the cafe. You can also preorder box meals on the website. Personally, we always pack our own food and drinks.

I do think there is a place where you can purchase food on the premises, but most people pack a picnic and bring it with them. You may purchase picnic basket meals from many restaurants in the area as well. I think all would... More
