A stunning collection of art from all over the world including many European and American masters, including Degas, Monet, O'keeffe, Picasso, Cole, Church, Peale and many, many more. They are displayed in a very observer friendly way. Nice African and Asian art collection. There is a gallery that displays art specifically for an art course. Great gift shop with very... More

I enjoy visiting college campuses throughout the United States and consider Smith to have one of the most attractive that I have seen. Its walkways, open spaces, and wooded areas with views toward Paradise Lake were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, father of American landscape architecture and co-designer of New York City's Central Park. I find the landscape, even with... More

There is something to be said about a gorgeous campus filled with amazing women taught by caring, brilliant professors. The entire student body could fit in one of the lecture halls at the college I attended. This is one of those rare colleges that everyone wishes they could attend. It is a very special place.

We love to visit the town and the grounds of Smith College are a real pleasure. Design by Olmsted, one of the greatest landscape designers in architectural history, the grounds are dominated (as Olmsted designs often are) by beautiful waterscapes among the green. Make it a point to visit whenever you are here. An Olmsted classic.

Be sure to check out the botanical garden, pass by the beautiful gardens by the president's house, enjoy the beautiful view of Paradise Pond from the tree swing, in addition to the view of the pond from the bridge to the athletic fields.

We were at Smith College for a graduation. The grounds are really lovely with interesting buildings in various architectural styles, some of which are old and filled with character. It has a botanical garden, a lake and great bookstore.

We live close by so we often walk the campus grounds. The architecture and landscaping are exquisite. Make sure you check out the small greenhouse - always something amazing to see there. Also, there is a great walk along the Mill River near Smith College. It winds its way along the water and through a sweet area with peace flags.... More

This relatively small campus boasts a landscaped central core by Olmsted and a number of handsome hundred year old buildings. If you enjoy academic campuses, this is worth a trip.

A beautiful place to wander around! Really do not miss Smith College campus if you are in Northampton. The grounds are an arboretum and there are beautiful specimens of trees that are labeled. The buildings are architecturally beautiful and there are lovely gardens scattered all around the campus. The greenhouses are wonderful as is the Smith College Museum of Art.... More
