This is a working Alpaca breeding farm. At first look it is a bit worn. The animals are interesting and the guides are informative and willing to answer any questions. When you pass through the Barn you enter the shop which has a vast array of Alpaca related goods.

We went on a whim and ended up having an absolutely amazing time. All the employees were incredibly nice and taught us all about their alpacas. He even picked up the new babies and brought them over so we could see and pet them. They were asking for suggestions for names for the new guys. We suggested Al Pacacino, so... More

Was very glad we planned a visit to the Island Alpaca Company. The staff was so nice, from the young ladies at the entrance booth to the folks that work in the store, everyone was glad to chat with you. The alpacas were entertaining to watch. A few were very vocal.

If you love animals and excellent woolen products, this is a "do not miss' experience. Alpacas are wonderful creatures and the wool they provide makes luxurious cloth. The farm and store staff clearly have a passion for these animals and are eager to share their knowledge. The store has an extensive variety of products, so be prepared to spend a... More

I've often shopped at the store and like all the items they sell YEsterday, Sat October 12, I was looking for the alpaca socks that are made in Peru.the woman at the cash register was curt and not helpful, bordering on rude. I will think twice about returning. What an unfortunate way to lose customers

A late afternoon visit was the perfect way to end our day. Adorable animals, a delight to watch and pet. The store is also a delight - mittens, hats, scarves - as soft and warm as you can only imagine. Make sure you allow for sufficient time to try everything you love on - and then of course time to... Island Alpaca Company of Martha's Vineyard also sells gifts shop items at the Farmers Market on Saturdays. My husband is a diabetic and loves his co-op diabetic socks. He says " I fell like I'm walking on air, when you walk they massage your feet". Socks are well worth the price!

You must pay $5 a person to even just go in the store. The alpaca farm consists of an fields with male alpaca off in a distant field and female alpaca on the other side of the store in a paddock for viewing. To even stroll on the property they charge $5 a piece. If you spend $20 in store... More
