Pulled up the car as my friend has some walking issues and watched the tides. Some picnic tables and some folks on the beach. A lovely tranquil place.

Skaket Beach in Orleans is one of those perfect inner Cape beaches for families, especially those with young children. When the tide is in the shallow's extent for hundreds of yards. When the tide is out the beach itself extends for hundreds of yards making...More

I am so glad we made the drive to see low-tide at Skaket Beach. It was a truely unique experience. We were there for low-tide that coincided with sunset & it was gorgeous.

This is a nice beach for kids. When the tide is out there is a huge essentially flat beach that makes this like an enormous wading pool. The ground is slightly rolling and this makes for regions (at low tide) of sand and regions of...More

Skaket is a great beach for families with small children. Generally no waves and the water depth goes down very gradually. Good snack bar.

We went during April vacation. Low tide. We found great opportunities to discuss science, weather, ecology, etc. Great fresh air, exercise and memories!

Nice small beach that is easy to get to from the parking lot, no stairs or hills going down to the water. When the tide is out you can walk way out, and over to Rock Harbor . It's amazing how far the water goes...More

As noted by others, it's free after Labor Day
How much is daily parking for non resudent visitors at Skaket beach? The website for Orleans, MA talks about daily pass available at $20 for June-Sept season. We are planning to go in May? There is no mention of May does it mean that we won't need parking permit at Skaket Beach?
