This rail-to-trail path is a good place for a short hike or bike ride away from some of the busier streets nearby. A short walk from the main trail is a large natural area that can be accessed. Look for the historic grave sites in...More

Lovely, easy bike or walk trail. Wetlands, Ipswich River as you approach the trail's western end. A very few roads to cross, and some drivers do not watch the signals, so be careful there.

This bike route is my favorite. Never overcrowded. Nice balance of shade/sun. Lots of wildlife if you keep your eyes pealed. You can walk, run, bike, or roller-blade. On every journey I take on this path, you always receive a nod from the other runners/bikers...More

Nice path for runners, walkers, or bikers. If it's a nice day get out there and be active. I found the trail kind of ended weird though, someone said it picked up elsewhere but I wasn't sure where so just doubled back.

This is a great path. The only thing I don't like about it is you can go from the North Shore Mall to Peabody rd then the trial stops. You have to go to Lt. Ross park to pick it up again. I found out...More

Very nice paved path through the woods partly along a lazy stream. Excellent for biking, jogging or walking. A nice path for cross county skiing or snowshoeing as well.

Nice easy walk! It is a nice paved walkway. There is a short stretch where you need to walk along Lowell Street. But it's still a nice walk! Free it's a walk! There were families on the walk; some on bikes, some walking, some pushing...More

this is right behind our condo, so much fun to use it and to watch the many mothers pushing carriages and some running, also kids learning how to use their new bikes, life happens and we get to watch it from our porch.

The Independence Greenway is only 4-5 miles long. For a much longer ride I would suggest the Danvers Rail Trail. I don't know how many miles, but it's much longer than the Independence Greenway. The Danvers Rail Trail... More
