This was me and my dog just wanting to get to the end of that point which was a long way away. We decided to take the short way back on the breakwater which is not easy for an older, not too big dog. But I highly recommend this if you want a nice long hike with epic views. But... More

Loved it. Rent a row boat with a motor at lands end and take it out yourself. You'll probably see seals along the way and you can view the larger boats that are parked up close.

Beautiful dune trip at sunset. I have forgotten the name of the providers (there is only one licensed for Provincetown) but it would be well worth finding the providers and taking this tour. See the beautiful, natural part of Provincetown.

As if hiking the breakwater isn't enough (1.2 miles), you've got easily another mile and a half to Long Point Lighthouse. I wasn't expecting it to be open, but hope does spring eternal, does it not? Consider yourself warned: the walk on the sand will make you love concrete and asphalt for the rest of your days. It was almost... More

We have walked the breakwater (actually it is considered a dyke because it encloses a tidal pool) a few times, but only walked to the tip of Long Point once. It is about 3 miles each way from the street to the tip so be prepared if you are going. Just found out this year that they have shuttle service... More

Long Point and Wood End Lighthouses are accessible via Provincetown's Breakwater Rock Passage, which is a sometimes treacherous path over huge, uneven boulders. The path is over a mile long, and it took us about an hour to reach land. The rocks are solidly in place, but there are often large gaps between them requiring sure-footedness. In addition, be wary... More

This lighthouse is an active navigational aid. It was built in 1826 and is currently solar operated. To get to it you need to make a long hike across a breakwater or take a boat shuttle to it. We did not do either but just observed it through our long lens camera and binoculars.

Very important - go during low tide if you are walking the jetty. That aside, you have the option of walking there and back on the jetty or take the pontoon from Flyer's Boat Rentals to Long Point and walk back (you can also take the pontoon both ways). We really enjoyed walking along the beach during low tide and... More
