Although we live here, our favorite weekend trip starts at Sandwich antiques center and then we head east on 6A, stopping at every antique shop that catches our eye along the way. If we leave early enough, we make it to chatham by the end of the day and stay at the first hotel with Vacancy after a nice dinner.... More

After visiting the wonderful Sandwich Glass Museum my wife and I drove the length of historic Rt 6A from Sandwich to Orleans. A nice ride with plenty to see along the way. Plan on taking a day to do the drive because of all the stops you will have exploring the shops and taking the side roads down to the... More

Long scenic route worth the ride because there are lots of shops with places to eat along the way and many places to stop and see the water.

This road is quieter and more enjoyable than taking the main road. It will take longer but worth it.

This tree lined road gently curves through 5 villages, Sandwich, Barnstable, Yarmouthport, Dennis, Brewster & reconnects again, past the center of Orleans, with direct path on to Provincetown. Its approximately 63 miles long and offers a scenic drive, shops,restaurants,... More

So many fun resteraunts, shops and galleries to stop at! We enjoyed taking just a full day to drive along and pop into shops and galleries with many picturesque spots to stop and hike or picnic at along the way! We had a great day and really enjoyed ourselves while getting a great feel for the surrounding area!

I never tire of riding on 6A. I like to stop and take photos. The houses along it are very attractive. A photographer could spend a career in a twenty mile stretch of 6A

Lots to see and do. Beautiful old houses. Great antique shops and Sandwich diners. Old historic houses and churches along the way. The Cape Cod dinner train whistles past every couple of hours.

One of my favorite routes to travel on the Cape! We were there a few days before Columbus Day this year and the lack of color was a little disappointing, however, stopping at all the delightful little shops made it all worthwhile. When the colors are out in peak makes it a plus!
