This Lighthouse is only open on Father's Day, and during the Cranberry festival. I would recommend going early, straight to the lighthouse was there will be a line. Sometimes, if you are just 1 or 2 in your party, you can go ahead because they only let a few in at a time. It's well worth the wait though, for... More

The Sankaty Head Lighthouse has been moved back from its original location due to erosion along the waters edge. It's a great example of mother natures power. It's a great short, flat walk out to the lighthouse. Take your time. Enjoy the sunrise with a friend.

This is a great take if you like lighthouses, are intrigued by the Nantucket challenges with erosion, love the coast, etc. It's a grand ol' light. The venue is stunning, breathtaking, but a very basic place... No guided tours, etc. but what a view and what a setting...

This lighthouse is majestic and beautiful. It's light can be seen for miles. We have the opportunity to see it with a beautiful rainbow in the background.

Absolutely gorgeous setting for a gorgeous lighthouse. The view from the top of the bluff it sits on overlooks a good portion of the island as well as the coast (where you'll see seals!). Well worth the trip up.

Best view on island. Pretty windy. Saw seals playing in the water below the drop off which is steep! Highly recommend this lighthouse view great photo spots.

A fascinating history of lighthouses and the impact of erosion on the beaches of Nantucket. A beautiful destination for your bike ride from Nantucket city. Loved watching the seals play in the ocean from the view above at the lighthouse

This lighthouse was a stop on a tour my wife and I went on. Great views atop a cliff of Atlantic Ocean and Sankaty Golf Course.

The lighthouse was our first stop when we arrived on Nantucket. We drove through the town of beach cottages. (In summer these are the rose covered cottages.) The lighthouse was not as tall as we expected, but was recently painted. It overlooks the bluffs and the golf course. Very majestic.
