Hop on the ferry (reservations if you are taking your car!) and you are off on a mini adventure. Ferries run on time--are very reasonable--and transport you in less than an hour. If daytripping Go Early-rent a car and just EXPLORE. Drive to Gay Head and work your way back to the last ferry.

Whether going over by car, with bicycle, or by foot the ride is worth the price. Round trip tickets are best. If you're not taking your car, the bus service works well, and even has a lift for wheelchair bound folk as well as a bike carrier on the front of each bus. Enjoy!

My 12-year-old son, his friend, and I grabbed the noon ferry to Oak Bluffs. Online the night before, it indicated we should use the Palmer Street lot. TIP 1: Plan to arrive at least 1 hour before the ferry departs. Arriving, the lot was full and we were directed to the Thomas Sanders lot, about 5 miles away and depending... More

This ferry is well-maintained, operated by excellent staff. Schedules are timely and tickets are easily available. There may be more difficulty if you are taking a vehicle but we were not. Food available onboard.

Run like a well oiled machine. If buses run late or boats are late it's because of stupid people. Today we had a large group try to get on the bus with a charcoal grill. They needed to break the grill down to fit it in the luggage area and the bus was being held up for them. We were... More

First time using this ferry boat, wished we had understood to park and shuttled to the ferry boat before we had traveled the busy 8 miles to the ferry landing only to learn we had to return back to the parking lot we just passed 8 miles ago!! Lol! Lost about an hour.....but now we know and would still recommend... More

This is a public utility for those that live on Martha's Vineyard but it is treated like a little ATM fiefdom for the admin. and union employees. Lousy scheduling, bad bus service from offsite parking... Just silly.
