I went one saturday afternoon but found that the "castle" was really just a small tower and it was locked. So basically, all you see in this picture is all there is to do. Plus the parking lot was filled with young college couples who were "chilling" there.

On a clear day you can see for miles around Worcester. The tower is only open from 10 to 2 on Sundays in October and the wait to enter the tower can be long, but it is fun to climb all the way to the top where a knowledgeable person will point out the landmarks in each direction. Be sure... More

Ok, let's put it straight, for a French native, this tower, even though full of charm, is a little bit disappointing! By far not a castle as I read in some of the reviews... Unfortunately the tower was closed so impossible to have a view on the city, as it is surrounded by trees. I'm sure being able to walk... More

Bancroft Tower used to be the place where young couples went to "park" and climb up to the top of the tower for a romantic experience. It is in a residential neighborhood at the top of the hill. Pretty cool to go if you want to walk down memory lane or view the architecture and enjoy the day.

Great place to unwind on a beautiful sunny day in worcester. The inside gives you the feel you are elsewhere in time, and you forget you are in the middle of New England's second largest city.

It is located in a residential area. It is a very nice spot to take pictures. If you have to use the bathroom, there aren't any around.

Go back in time and visit a "real" castle, complete with (if you're lucky) a quick trip to the tippety top of the turret.

The castle was easy to get to, was just slightly disappointed that we couldn't go in, I would have loved to see the view from the top. Nice breeze though! Went on a hot day and it was nice and shaded. Cool spot, I would say check it out those out of town

Bancroft Tower has a nickname, the 2D castle, because it is almost 2D, not 3D. You can't go up inside but it is really beautiful to see and easy to get to. I have been here several times and always love taking photos. Great place for a picnic. Because this is a bit of an unknown attraction it can be... More
