The park has regular guided tours to view eagles on Lake Erie. Believe it or not, the best days to view the eagles are the coldest days of winter. They are often quite a ways out so bring binoculars and possibly a scope; although there are a few spots where on a good day you can view them from your... More

I can't review because the State of MI chooses to charge admission. Few states I have visited where a fee is charged to have a picnic.

Played 18 holes of golf at Lake Erie Metro Parks Golf Course and was very impressed. Course is well laid out to blend with landscape. Course is well maintained, challenging and playable. No 2 fairways ever intersected each other. Greens were fast and true. One must play this gem of Wayne County.

I play the golf course at Lake Erie Metro park once a week. It is like a links course but easier. I find it challenging but doable. The greens are good and the fairways are kept well. The staff are friendly and the price is great, especially weekdays.

A real treat for this southern boy born in Texas and raised in south Florida. My two middle sons and I took a long hike through the park, starting at the pedestrian/bike entrance on S. Gibraltar Rd. No entrance fee this way. Sweet! The walk through the woods from this entrance is beautiful. I have done it once before in... More

It's 10 bucks for a day permit. Which wouldn't be an issue if this park had something to offer. Lake Erie is contaminated with E. Coli and there are signs everywhere telling you not to swim in it. It smells awful through out the whole park. To compensate for that, there is a pool on the park grounds...8 bucks for... More

I'm an armature. Birder and can't say enough about identifying and adding to my life list. A beautiful park to enjoy trails, nature, sun and fun!

Another metropark is Lake Erie. We've been there after work to just have a little picnic and take a little hike. It's amazing to see how much open space the lake around Detroit hold. Water and marshlands, volleyball fields, bike lanes and the pool. Must be busy during holiday and weekends.

They have a wonderful nature center showing the local wildlife as will as walking paths through marsh land. You can picnic next to the lake and enjoy the view. They also have a pool and an eagle on display at the nature center.
