We had a great trip. It started out rocky - one of our children has not so obvious special needs, and said child had an episode right at the beginning. A fellow passenger who does... read more

Every year we come up to the Traverse City / Charlevoix area this time of year (September), and every year we attempt to take the sunset cruise and every year, this is the fourth straight year that they have cancelled the cruise. The guy we talk to, I think he is the owner, comes up with every lame excuse he... More

Sorry for your bad luck. We do try to get everyone out if possible. I can't help that the weather plays such a roll in my cruise schedule. I need 15 people to make it feasible to take the boat out. Just because the sun comes out just before departure time does not mean I will have a cruise. Plus... More

We had a great trip. It started out rocky - one of our children has not so obvious special needs, and said child had an episode right at the beginning. A fellow passenger who does not think small children should be allowed in public at all made his position clear. This did not help. Everyone else was kind and understanding,... More

This is a lovely older unique boat with a very nice crew who make you feel at home as you cruise Lake Charlevoix and Round Lake. Be it sunset or fall color tour, it is very worth doing.

We enjoyed this excursion very much. Jason and crew were very organized and kept everything running smoothly. Food on board was amazingly good. We're not big buffet fans so we weren't impressed with the casino meals. It didn't take long for us to exhaust our free plays. It was a little chily out on the lakes but we enjoyed the... More

Been trying to do on of there cruises for a couple year but always sold out. We booked this 3 day cruise and had only 56 passengers. Picked up at the hotel and taken to the boat. Left from Charlevoix and headed to Sault Ste Marie Where we spent two nights in the Kewadin Casino where we had breakfast and... More

Had a wonderful time on this 3 day Great Lakes Cruise which included Lakes Michigan, Huron and Superior. Very interesting to see many Lighthouses and Freighters as we passed closely by them rather than from shore. The Keweenaw Star is a clean and comfortable boat that gave us a very stable ride throughout our trip. The crew was great and... More

Boyne Thunder is a great fundraiser for Camp Quality. My wife and I have always found ways to contribute over the years! Well I saw an advertisement for a cruise on the Keweenaw Star for the start of the Boyne Thunder Poker Run. It is the first year they have offered this. They had on board snacks and a nicely... This excursion was very, very good. The trip started off in bad weather (Winds were strong and the waves were high.) which made walking around an adventure. There were some light houses we had to skip due to the weather, but we managed to get close to them on the last day of the trip. Hotels were okay. Meals: breakfast... More

This 4 day excursion from Charlevoix, MI to the Door Peninsula in Wisconsin was an entertaining way to see Northern Lake Michigan and Green Bay. The crew were friendly and knowledgeable about the boat, navigation and all the points of interest that make for a comfortable cruise. As another commented, we learned more about more lighthouses that we could have... More

We enjoyed this four day trip from Charlevoix MI to Door County, WI. The crew on the boat were knowledgeable and willingly shared that knowledge with the passengers; they were particularly helpful to us who have some physical challenges. We learned more about the lighthouses of northern Lake Michigan than we had a right to expect. The accommodations at the... More
