We stopped in as we had some spare time before another event. It's nice, it's a little of everything. Generally well maintained. Learned a bit about Detroit history I didn't know. Museum not to spread out so that was nice.

A real gem in the city. Free, spacious, lots of permanent exhibits as well as some rotating. Plan on spending about 2 hours to see it all. Cars, old town area you walk through, Motown, lots of neat stuff.

Easy way to spend a couple of hours in the midtown area. Very interesting look at the Detroit area and the different ideas and businesses that have evolved in the area. Right across from the DIA and on the Q Line. Free admission!

My husband and I took our first trip to the Detroit Historical Museum today and I am so glad that we did. We started in the basement, walking down the streets of 1840's, 1870's and early 1900's Detroit. We saw apothecary shops, Saunders sweets and...More

Just across the street from the DIA, this will make your trip to Detroit perfect. You can learn from the beginning of development, industrialization, automobile industry, music and culture, fighting against racism.
