I have been to many performances here and they have all been wonderful! Ushers are kind, professional, and gracious. Operas, Broadway musicals, and dance events are breathtaking with the lighting and orchestra. Arrive early for downtown Detroit parking.

My husband & I went to see the Lion King. A childhood dream! I teared up three times from excitement. We were fortunate to get inexpensive front row! tickets. Inside the opera house is gorgeous. Loved it. All the employees were friendly and helpful. I hope to return to see another show.

Had left in plenty of time for Common Ground Dance Company only to discover gridlock with those attending the Monster Trucks at the Ford. Unbelievable!! And because my sister had the tickets and parking voucher, we finally parked at Eastern Market and drove the other car to the Opera House garage with the voucher. Stress, nightmare and horrible planning or... More

The venue is absolutely beautiful. Lovely chandeliers and decor. Seats were less than comfortable though. They are very small and i am not a large person, but it is hard to cross your legs while sitting in the seat. Lion King was awesome!

Me and my wife saw Lion King years ago in Vegas, so when we saw that the Lion King was coming to Detroit we wanted to take our kids. We got there early and I am glad we did. We met an usher while we were waiting to be seated. I just asked him "How old is the Detroit Opera... More

We saw the Lion King this past Saturday at 1 pm. The theatre was beautiful. This was our 1st visit and we will be back. Lion King the costumes were fantastic. The music and acting were great. It was a wonderful play. There were many children in attendance, each well behaved. To witness their delight was an added bonus. At... More

I would recommend this theater to anyone especially if you live 100 or more miles away from it. It is a beautiful place to just admire and the people who work there are exceptionally friendly and helpful. It seems so large and overwhelming but once you are there and walk around it is very simple and so, so beautiful. I... More

Saw The Lion King Feb. 16. Had accidentally ordered tickets for Wed. Feb. 15 which we discover about 5 minutes before getting there from Lansing. The box office was exceptionally helpful in getting us tickets for that night and were able to seat the three of us together. Because our view was partially blocked and usher noticed us doing a... Attended a showing of The Lion King on a Thursday evening. Completely full house but the only time it was noticed was during intermission and at the end. The main hallway is just not large enough (especially with the carts in there for food and merchandise) to make a smooth exit. Staff was wonderful and super helpful, always patient and... More

Seen The Lion King on Sunday evening. The lobby was tight with the amount of people, but the stage area was spacious enough. The seats were comfortable, the acoustics and sound were very good and the wall art was nice. It was a very enjoyable experience.
