The Detroit People Mover (DPM) is a fully automated light rail system that operates on an elevated single-track loop in Detroit's central business district. Launched in 1987, the system’s 13 stations provide quick connections between the courts and administrative offices of several levels of government, sports arenas, exhibition centers, major hotels, and commercial, banking and retail districts. Service is frequent and unencumbered by vehicle or pedestrian traffic, and at just 75 cents per ride, it’s the best bargain in town!

We took it for a few stops and I would have liked to take it for the whole loop. I think most people use it for games and concerts.

We had our foreign exchange students and needed to experience Detroit. While in Detroit why not try the People Mover. They had fun and we rode around the city with others playing 'tourists'.

The price cannot be beat as the people mover offers some great views of Detroit especially near the river. It is .75$ to ride it each time and you buy tokens at the station. Each station has a different price of art work in it...More

The entire circumference of the route around the downtown can be walked in about 30-40 minutes. It only costs 75 cents for a 20-minute ride of the whole route and it gives you some sense of where things are located. I found it just as...More

The people mover is a monorail type bus that makes 12+ stop throughout all the token areas in Detroit. You pay EACH time you get on. It is roughly 75 cents. Make sure you bring USD as they will not accept Canadian.More

I hadn't ridden the People Mover is probably 25 years. What I noticed this time is that the route has REVERSED which gave us an excellent chance to see the rest of the downtown area. (We boarded at Greektown and were getting off at Grand...More
