This is a slow drive because people are always stopping by sign posts to read the guide or look at the view, etc. Get out and explore at all the turnouts because each is different.

Yes- the trail goes directly by the large Dunes and also by at least one other opening to the beach

You can't drive on these dunes at the National Park, but if you head south, down to Silver Lake Sand Dunes, you can. If you google Silver Lakes Sand Dunes, you'll find several places that rent vehicles. Or you can take a... More
