Gorgeous House

Drive by and appreciate. The owner has busted his buns to upgrade the place, respecting the FL Wright heritage.

Grand Rapids' Heritage Hill Historic District is larger than you would at first think. It's actually the largest historic homes district in the U.S. with more than 1,300 houses dating as far back as the 1840s. There are a number that offer home tours and several are museums as well.

If you are a Frank Lloyd Wright fan, or if you use like lovely neighborhoods and historic houses, this is a must. Meyer May House is gorgeous, classic FLW prairie house genre, beautifully restored. Should be on your FLW Life List.

Stop by to pickup map & brief history of each old house. Great on a Sunday Morning when traffic is light so you aren't causing traffic jam while gawking!

I wandered into Heritage Hill accidentally. I had visited the Gerald Ford presidential museum, and went to Ford's old address to see if his childhood home was still standing. It was, and it's being lovingly tended, with beautiful flowers and landscaping. I drove through a few streets of the neighborhood, admiring big ole Victorians and the occasional bungalow. I was... Best collection of Victorian homes we ever saw plus a wonderful FranK Loyd Wright home. Cobblestone streets, mature tree lined neighborhood. A peaceful place to walk or ride.

We learned about the area from online review. It was nice to walk around and look at the old houses. A map is available on the Heritage Hill web site
