Well done renovation, very educational about the architect and the house; nice neighborhood for walking and there is another FLW house nearby. We had the free sunday tour starting at 1pm, with a 1/2 hour video of history of house and renovation- well done. Docent was knowledgeable and pleasant - we had plenty of time to see things and ask... More

As an artist, designer and avid follower of great architecture, this is a must see! Drove out of my way to see it and didn;t know it was special until I saw it live…love it!

The history of the home and the story of the renovation are very interesting and well delivered starting with the introduction video and continued by a knowledgeable docent. The extent of work undertaken to get the home and it's furnishing back to early original state is impressive. The setting in the historic Heritage Hills district gives one a great sense... More

Steelcase bought and renovated this amazing house and shares it for free a few days of the week. Well worth the visit, the story is amazing in the great detail they went to to restore this house. No bags to put on your shoes, they made multiple sets of carpet, just like original, to let guests tromp around on so... More

Wonderful end to a getaway weekend with my husband. The historic house was painstakingly restored by dozens of artisans. I've never been a big fan of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, but now have a new found appreciation. The docents are very knowledgeable and share great stories. Great way to spend an afternoon in Grand Rapids.

The main reason for our trip to Michigan was to see the May house. As a docent for another FLW prairie house, it's always good to compare and contrast. We had a short wait for the video. It was a very informative video about bringing the house back to Wright's original. The tour itself was very good. We had a... More

This home has been refurbished incredibly well. I'm not sure if I've met more competent docents as the ones here -their knowledge was very impressive. The best part about this home is that it was a thorough tour (about 60-90 min long), a video about the restoration and it was free! That's not typical for Frank Lloyd Wright homes. Totally... More

Wonderfully informative tour of an architectural jewel. Guides were friendly and knew all about the home. House was restored to its original glory, sparing no expense. It is open only a few days a week - even on a fall Thursday there were a lot of people desiring tours, so you might have to wait a bit. It took us... More

A worthwhile excursion while visiting Grand Rapids. The tour starts with a film that documents the actual restoration which provides a detailed look at the impressive scope of work that went into restoring the Meyer May House by Frank Lloyd Wright. It gave an insightful perspective for touring the actual home and made for a deeper appreciation of what was... More

We're big fans of Frank Lloyd Wright houses. So wherever we travel we check to see if there are any FLW houses to visit. The Meyer May house was one of our more enjoyable FLW houses for several reasons. It's free thanks to the Steel Case Corporation, it has been carefully restored, you can take pictures inside and outside the... More
