We went on a weekend that had a special event downstairs ( The river city water festival) with vendors set up for water conservation and had information on recycling and keeping the earth clean. They had games and prizes for the kids. We had alot of fun with all of that before we even went into the exhibits. The zoo... More

To tell you the truth, I never entered the museum. I have rated it at 3 because on this particular day, and 2 other times I visited here, the lines to enter were to long for me to wait. I'm sure it is a great museum, but as I said, when you have 40-50 people waiting to enter on a... More

The Grand Rapids Public Museum is worth a visit for all ages. The Whale exhibit was interesting, but better for older children. The set-up is a little tight in spots, like sharp corners from displays jutting out right to a child's eye level, so just keep a watch out if navigating the whale exhibit when crowded. Our 4 year old... More

Recently toured the Whales: Giants of the Deep exhibit. Pretty interesting. Two big sperm whale skeletons and many other smaller animals. Lots to do through the museum. Kept our six-year-old daughter interested.

I absolutely love visiting here and it's fun for all ages. There's informative and enlightening addition shows for minimal coverage. They do have a snack-lunch bar for those who are hungry.. prices matching those of other eateries. After several visits with friends and my daughter we started bringing my granddaughter. Now for us there's 3 generations from 6 to mid... More

I have been here on several occasions just to go through for a couple special viewings and to a the planetarium. I have also been to a couple company Christmas Party's in the main area. It is a beautiful museum not terribly large if you take the day you could probably get through it. Don't forget to take a ride... More

Took my 8 yr. old grandson and he was so excited, but we were too. Spent over 4 hrs. Viewing the museum. We went to see the dinosaurs years ago and enjoyed it so much. We thought we would go thinking it would be the same. The information and the pictures are top notch. The skeletal remains of the dolphins... More

With everything there is to do and experience and see here it is a very fun and educational trip. I also like that the people there are willing to talk about and explain everything in their museum. there is pride taken in the exhibits and in the overall feel of the place.

I will return. Did not have enough time to view the whole museum because we arrived later than we wanted to. I did very much like the nature exhibit on the 3rd floor.
