This ramshackle cottage has a view like no other. From the windows you can see the neighborhood dumpster that has been taken over by a local family of skunks and trash that is dropped off by anyone staying in this area code. We are prisoners of the yard after dark as we are afraid of being sprayed. Per photos the... More

It isn't fancy, but the cabins are always clean. The owners are friendly and accommodating. Our family has been renting here for at least 15 years and we rent all the cabins. As long as the weather is decent the lake is great. Do be aware of getting swimmers itch, especially if you have little ones. This year was one... More

We have rented the lakefront cottage and sea ray from JR Resort for the past 3 years or so and each time has been a very pleasant experience. The cottage is exceptionally clean and well kept and you are just steps from private beach access with plenty of accessories including canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats for small children. The cottages... More

Not fancy but cozy, clean and comfortable. We stayed in Cleveland Place. A very short, easy walk to the beach with a great yard covered in trees that the kids where the kids loved to run around. Having access to the paddle boat, canoes and kayaks was great!

We stayed at the Lakefront Cottage, and I highly recommend it!! I don't think we would have had as good a time in any of the other cottages. I loved being right on the water. I recommend bringing or renting a boat with it. The cottage was very clean but maybe a little too cozy for some. We had 6... More

We just returned from a week at the lake front cottage. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed...even a crock pot which came in handy! The only thing you need to bring are sheets and towels. The bedrooms are small but the beds are comfortable. The pull-out trundle in the livingroom was perfect... More

I've never actually stayed at this resort, but it's on the same street as my families cottage. The location couldn't be better. The resort is also right next to a park, and has a beach in front. Only lake front homes have private beach access, so that is a big perk for visitors.

We stayed at JR Resort in July, 2008. It is not a resort at all, but several cottages at Higgins Lake. The lakefront cottage not only had exposed plumbing and electrical, the water heater was in the kitchen. The kitchen curtains were made of dish towels and the windows were bolted shut and therefore could not be opened. There was... More
