The nature center building has some displays & educational activities for kids, a gift shop, and a few live animals (owls, snakes, turtles). There are several trails winding through a mostly wooded area, offering a chance to see some wildlife (mostly birds). We didn't really see much wildlife, but we kind of walked though in a hurry. One of trails... More

The De Graaf Nature center is a really nice place, I am not sure how many acres it is, but it has a creek running through it, a pond and a variety of trails. It's a slice of heaven in the city!

The nature center has a viewing room, some live animals, activities for kids and a small gift shop. The trails are well marked and of various lengths. It is a bit marshy so expect some insects. There are benches and viewing decks along the trails. The self guided trail is all wood planked for easy walking. It is a well... More

We didn't know what to expect but we were very pleasantly surprised. Indoors there is a viewing station and exhibits including live animals to keep the kids interested. Outside, the trails are well maintained mainly on boardwalks. Well worth a couple of hours of your time.

Degraaf is a great place to go to "get away from it all". Inside are great displays and friendly staff. Outside the trails are great places to walk, nature watch or sit and "quiet down", pray or journal.

We happened to come here during their "Maple Palazola " day. An Irish band was playing, maple syrup produced at their farm, maple syrup beer made at Saugatuck Brewery were both available to purchase. The trails are open daily from dawn to dusk, the center Tues-Fri. 9-5, Sat 10-5. No admission charge. We look forward to bringing our grandkids here... More

A quiet walk down the many trails will give the visitor ever changing views of ponds, creek, and woodlands. Spring wild flowers are wonderful. March thru May and Sept thru Oct will test your ability to identify migrating birds. Great place for nature lovers and families with children to experience nature.
