More
Windmill Island Gardens is home to de Zwaan windmill, the last mill allowed to be transported from the Netherlands. de Zwaan still functions by grinding locally-grown grain into flour that is sold to visitors and local businesses. A highlight of visiting is a tour of this historic working windmill. Visitors can enjoy music from our antique Dutch street organ given to the City of Holland by the City of Amsterdam after World War II. Children can also ride on our antique carousel from the Netherlands. There are several other replica Dutch buildings and shops. The Island is home to beautiful gardens which feature tulips in the spring followed by beautiful annuals and perennials throughout the summer. Please note that the Island is open seasonally, April 14 - October 7, 2018. Last tickets sold at 5 pm.

Probably not a great place for teenagers, but adults will love this place. A very pleasant place to spend the afternoon. However, the food selection is very limited, so eat before you come here.

What an absolutely beautiful park to walk around and spend a few hours. The flowers were gorgeous and the walk around/in the windmill was great! Highly recommend a visit.

Pretty neat place to visit. Great for history buffs to learn about the only true Dutch windmill in the states!

If you aren’t going to Holland to see windmills, come see a transplant here. Tour does get into granular detail but mostly holds attention of the little ones. The carousel and horses will grab their attention more fully. Sits on marshland recovered with polders and...More

There are so many flowers to see and they are huge. We went on the tour of the Dutch windmill. Lots of steps, but you stop on each level of the windmill and listen to the lady tell about the windmill. Must stop and see...More

I don't remember seeing anything on the sign that says that and there is nothing on the website. I'd give them a call since you are local.

Get there early, Holland City did add a parking structure, not that far away. (There is also some parking on the grounds)
