This past Friday we stopped in to the winery on the recommendation of a Traverse City friend. We were not disappointed. We were new to the wine tasting experience and visited seven wineries in the area and this was by far the best. We tasted...More

I guess it depends on what you're looking for, but in my opinion, Chateau Fontaine is the best overall winery on either Leelanau or Old Mission Peninsula. The building itself is modest, but I go there for the wines. I love most of them and...More

I call Chateau Fontaine a hidden gem winery. The owners are personable. The staff is knowledgable. The tastings are free. You won’t leave empty handed. I enjoy every wine there. They offer great discounts when you buy cases of wine.

Chateau Fontaine is our favorite winery in Michigan. We always buy a case twice a year. Big paw red is our favorite table wine and the price is very reasonable. We also love their cheeseball that is served with tastings to cleanse your palette.

We really liked our tasting here! The winery is a lot less corporate than others in the area. The tasting room is simple, but clean and pleasant. It has a family atmosphere. The focus here seems to be on the wine, rather than tourism, which...More

What a wine tasting experience. They took us through the entire inventory and at no charge, completed w/a snack and chocolate to finish. Very good prices, some wines better than others (my mother loved them all). Not to be missed, and, there's a lot of...More

This is a winery that we consistently buy from on our visits to the area. The tastings are interesting and the wines are fairly priced. The standout for us this year was the chardonnay. And we always buy some tart cherry wine - call us...More
