Very interesting visit and tour of the Home and Studio. Contemporary design for it's time, there are some influences from Frank Lloyd Wright. Compared to other houses of this nature, it has a more livable feel to it, that people could comfortably, and practically, live...More

The tour lasted about 2 hours and the guide was excellent. Her father used to be the chief wood worker for Alden Dow, so she had many personal stories to share. The home is amazing and interesting to tour. Well worth your time and money....More

Midland might not make your list of architectural hot spots to visit, and that is a mistake. The Alden Dow home and studio is a well-preserved, notable mid-century modern gem. The tours are limited to 30 people daily at 2pm, plus Friday and Saturdays at...More

A wonderful tour looking back at Alden B. Dow, his architecture, and family home. Outside, each season has it's photo ops surrounding the property. Years ago, personal photos were allowed indoors but that has changed to no photos allowed. Sad.

The tour guide was kind and knowledgeable. The house itself is incredible! We went in the winter so we didnt get a chance to enjoy the gardens and such, but it was so great we plan on going back in the summer!

If modern architecture is your thing, the Alden Dow house shouldn't be missed. Alden Dow was Frank Lloyd Wright's first student at Taliesin, and later partnered on projects. As a kid in the late 60's, we lived in the neighborhood, when Alden Dow was living...More

I drove in from Lansing with my aunts for a visit. There are guided tours only. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and allowed time for pics and questions. The house is a spectacular, a must-see
