Pretty place to watch ships come and go, several people were fishing on the pier. There are plenty of benches to sit and take in the beautiful view. There is a small beach there as well that is nice for smaller kiddos as it is pretty shallow a far distance out. On the weekend we were there, it was packed.... More

This is a great place to take a walk or ride a bike out the end of the breakwater and take in the beautiful scenery. The lighthouse is right there, benches to sit and relax, easy access to do some fishing, and a beautiful beach. The north side of the channel is a great place to take kids swimming, as... More

Beautiful view of both White Lake and Lake Michigan along this pier that parallels the channel between the two. Did not walk on the dunes as it was dusk but sat after dark on benches while listening to the water against the rocks. Lots of fisherman casting for salmon but no one was lucky in the hour we stayed.

Nice place to stop and go for a stroll, beautiful sunsets and great beach for swimming. Also you can fish from the channel or just watch the boats come and go.

In summer it's great to spend a day at this beach. Location and area is beautiful with white sand beaches and dunes. The water is nice and fresh. Almost like swimming in the ocean, but without the salt.

This was a little bit secluded, but had parking close to the beach and, unlike the state parks, allowed dogs on the beach.

Public beach on Lake Michigan. Great dunes for climbing. Nice beach for swimming in summer or walking along in fall.

Make the trek to the lake from Montague and Whitehall and you won't be sorry. You walk up a bit the channel from the parking lot to the beach, but once there the water (and view) is spectacular. It stays shallow for a ways out so would be great with smaller kids. Very dog friendly too. The only downer is... More
