Gangaikonda cholapuram is a very famous and beautiful place to visit in thanjavur. Oldest architecture.

Built by the great Chola king, Rajendra Chola. Maintenance is good, it has a lot of free spacelawns, so kids can run and play around. It is an UNESCO site, has wonderful architecture.

the temple is closed at 12 noon.. I had visited minutes after 12 noon and it was already being closed about 3 months back. best bet is to go before 12 noon or after 4 30 pm. you can still go in to the outer prahara when the... More
