The citadel or palace Kunya Ark is visited by minimum 90 percent of travelers coming in Khiva. Even if its harem is now closed the summer mosque, reception hall and the observation tower offer you nice impressions.

The harem is particularly interesting, note the Swastika symbol at the apartment of the Khan's senior wife as a marking of seniority and blessing

Beautiful monument with amazing decorations and mosaics. From the roof, the view on the whole city of Khiva is excellent.

beautiful coloured tilework, lots of big courtyards and passageways and just a little imagination can take you right back to the times when westerners would not walk here
