Make sure that you visit late afternoon when the sun is not so strong for the best views. Remember that the city is very much dominated by sand coloured buildings and in the strong sunlight, the view is not so impressive. Go later and you...More

The stairs can be a bit uneven and you should have a flashlight or the light of your cellphone turned on for the dark. The view from the top is nice but not jaw dropping.

The impressively tall minaret will charge for the tortuous climb to the top. be sure to bring a torch or at least you mobile to light the dark corners of the narrow tall stairs. However, after a hard climb, the top does not exactly provide...More

Up a steep dark winding set of uneven steps but the effort is worth it. You are rewarded with a magnificent view of the whole area. There is an entry fee. .75p !

Beautiful to look at, interesting (be cautious) to climb, with good views at the top. Personally I think the views from the watch tower are better tho. Not child friendly, steep and narrow stairs. Cost is 5000 som to go up.

Wonderful view that is really worth to climb. A recommendation, though, make sure you're wearing the right shoes as the stairs are tall, narrow and very slippery. Your Khiva ticket won't get you there, you have to pay extra, about 2000 soms.

Use this minaret for your daily cardio and get a beautiful sceneray of Khiva. It's worth walking upstairs for this view.
