One of my best day in Leon

volcano boarding (such a nice experience full of adrenaline) I enoyed my beeer at the end of the tour and my mojito when I arrived at the hostel. It was super worthy

Think twice if u want to go down on a vulcano on a piece of wood. If I would have done, I would have not dislocated and fractured my shoulder, hot wrongly diagnosed by drs who misdiagnosed my fracture for a potential cancer and wanted to biopsy this fracture. I ruined my trip by spending lots of time and money... More

Cerro Negro is only 20 km from Leon, it is the 2nd youngest volcano in the world, born in 1850. Nothing grows yet on its slopes, it is black, from where its name comes Cerro Negro. It erupts every decade, but it’s not lava eruptions but mainly ash explosions. The area in its vicinity is not heavily populated but ash... More

Various tour companies offer a hike up Cerro Negro and volcano boarding (like tobogganing but on volcanic ash). Generally participants are younger hikers (20 - 35) as it is a steep climb, windy and you are carrying your board on your back. A bit of a challenge with the wind. The hike is about 35 - 45 min depending on... More

We visited the cerro negro volcano for volcano boarding with Anry from MAs Adventure and what a great experience. Our group was small, just us 8 and Anry made sure we had several stops along the way up as we had 2 people in their 60s, a 4 and a 9yr old in our group. The volcano is challenging. We... More

We headed out to Cerro Negro from Leon early in the am. We arrived as the first group to the volcano. The visitors center is excellent and definitely worth stopping to see. We climbed up the volcano and then slid down the far side. Our driver picked us up so we didn't have to walk back. It was an amazing... More

Did this very hungover, sick and in serious heat but didn't regret it one bit. Tough to stomach the fact you've to trek all that way for a couple of seconds of a thrill but it's well worth it. Great views on the way up (and down). Just don't touch the bottom of your board afterwards (I did😫)

It is a thing you do when you come to Leon, but in my opinion a bit overrated. The great view is definitely worth it and the cruising down is fun but dont expect too much from it.

Very beautiful sinery. A nice walk to the top of the vulcano and so much fun to race down The lava slopes with a board.
