I was impressed to see how far into the woods the accessible boardwalk gets into nature. If you are traveling with someone who has concerns about mobility, take them to Hoffmaster. They will be thrilled with the experience. A rare opportunity!

Hoffmaster is a Michigan State Park so you either have to buy the recreation pass with your license plate if you are a resident or pay to enter the park. The park has lots of hiking/running trails in and over the natural sand dunes leading...More

Lots of beach to walk on. Lots of trails in the dunes. Huge campground with just the dune separating you from the beach. Picnic areas. Get the yearly pass and come back again and again. It's worth it

Buy the state park sticker when you renew your Michigan licensee plate and enjoy this beautiful park and all the others too! I think it's only $10 for a year long pass.

Love sand dunes. Love beaches, Lake Michigan, and warm days. This is a great place to spend a day with all 3 of those things. Lots of sand makes busy days feel not so crowded. Lots of parking. Highly recommend.

Yes, certain times. Love the trails! The dunes create some shelter from the winds of the lake and the views are breathtaking. I would call The park for specifics.

There is a restroom and changing area in the swim beach parking lot. From the parking lot there is a short trek down some stairs (or a ramp) to get to the beach.
