I live only a mile away from this state park, and it is annually one of the most visited state parks in the Michigan system. The beach, camping, and nature center are all first rate.

My favorite state park. A Michigan secret is the amazing shoreline. Beautiful. Remote. Pristine. Kids run up the dunes for phone. Stay for sunset.

This state park is really pretty cool. The access to Lake Michigan is just amazing and the trails and nature center are pretty cool also. Probably the only reason I didn't give it 5 is because personally I like to camp at private campgrounds that...More

This is one of the most poplar parks in the state, so if you want to camp - reserve early! Nothing beats sitting on the dunes at sunset or even late at night under the stars. The museum is perfect for a brief rainy day...More

This is a great state park any time of year. The trails are used year round and pass through mature oak, beech, fir forest and rolling sand hills/dunes. Campground is a little separate from day use areas, so campers don't see the traffic from these...More

Yes, certain times. Love the trails! The dunes create some shelter from the winds of the lake and the views are breathtaking. I would call The park for specifics.

There is a restroom and changing area in the swim beach parking lot. From the parking lot there is a short trek down some stairs (or a ramp) to get to the beach.
