We decided to stop by on a whim. The lighthouse first floor is free, but there is a fee to go upstairs. We decided not to go upstairs. The first floor is tiny, but has some cool historic information. The little beach is pretty.

We drove from Traverse City to the end of this peninsula. Stopped at the Buchan's Blueberry Farm for blueberry picking on our way. Kids loved the blueberry picking. We enjoyed hanging out at the lighthouse beach and had lunch at Jolly Pumpkins. Great a day...More

This Lighthouse was built in 1870 on the northern tip of Old Mission Peninsula. It has always been one of my favourite places to visit and spend time at. The tour of the house is good and culminates with a view from the light tower....More

The beautiful ride on Mission Peninsula culminates at the Lighthouse. Can’t get much prettier than the view of Lake Michigan and the beach is clean and inviting. Large parking lot, swimming allowed, and a lovely beach. Great for kids to have fun!
