The river is bordered by trails on either side. The East River Trail is considerably less strenuous than than the West River Trail. Both involve some scrambling over rocks and climbing up and down stairs for the best views and to access overlooks. The east trail falls viewing can be reached from parking areas near each of the falls, making... More

We hiked the 2.5 mile waterfall trail. It was spectacular. This hike was our favorite after a week of hiking various trails in the Western Upper Peninsula.

It was late in the day and we were thinking of skipping the Presque Isle waterfalls but stopped despite the lateness, and hotness, of the day. We're glad we did. The walks to the falls are minimal and the views are exceptional. Take the time to visit all of the falls----and walk to where the river empties into Lake Superior.... More

Porcupine Mountains State Park is a great place to visit and this was the best part of our visit. My fiancé has a bad knee so both of us appreciated their miles of well-maintained boardwalk steps and walks to views of waterfalls, fauna/flora, river and Lake Superior. This place was pure eye candy. Don't miss it.

We took in the 3 waterfalls here. Several steps at each of the falls but all have wonderful viewing platforms so you can see every fall!

Enjoyed Manabezho Falls, Manido Falls, Nawadaha Falls. Great picture taking opportunities. Nice walkways to get to the falls. Also took a very hard hike near to where the river empties into Lake Superior from the state campground.

Easy access to the river and falls from the Porcupine Mountains State Park Road. Several convenient spots to park and walk to the river and see the falls. Footing can be tricky though, so make sure you wear good, solid shoes. Couldn't believe seeing people in sandals and flip flops!

My favorite part of the Porcupine Mountains is how free you are to explore. This section of the park is no exception. There is a sign at the base of the boardwalk telling you that waterfalls are beautiful but dangerous and to explore at your own risk. You can see where people leave the boardwalk and explore the falls and... More
