What a beautiful area to explore, unspoiled nature at its best...and this lighthouse and it's fascinating history is worth the journey to " up north" Michigan. You can climb to the top for an amazing view of Lake Huron, and shoreline.

The most obvious thing about Presque Isle at night, after the pervading darkness, is the brightness of this lighthouse. The lighthouse is easy to get to — just go to the end of the road. It is lovingly maintained, the natives are friendly, and the souvenirs available aren't just junk as so many places. There is plenty of parking for... More

This visit should be in the Summer. It's too cold the rest of the year. You won't have cell service there, but you can get internet at the McDonald's in Alpena, 23 miles away.

Not sure why the Old Presque Lighthouse isn't listed but it was a beautiful stop. Much more scenic than the New Presque Lighthouse. There was an event at the New Presque Lighthouse location so we didn't stay long.

Love this park. Gorgeous 360 views from the top and lots to see and do. Paths for walks, great area for kayaking and paddle boarding.

My wife and I enjoy lighthouse hunting and viewing. Most all are interesting in their own way. This one is no exception. The history and artifacts at most lights are enough to take up half a day. This one is among the more interesting . If you like history and a peek into the past stop here.

This lighthouse offers great views of Lake Huron. The grounds are kept up very nicely and it was just a relaxing stop. We spent a little time down along the coast before heading out on our way.

It's best to see the old lighthouse before heading over to the new one. Both had keepers' houses open for touring and charged a small fee to climb to the top, which we didn't do. Interesting look back in time.

My second visit to this lighthouse and still just as impressive as the first time. The views are unbelievable and we walked along the rocky coastline just north of the lighthouse. Pretty area. The museum is nice to walk through and if you are visiting both the old and new lighthouse then save $ by buying the combo admission ticket.
