hiked the marked BEACH path to the lake. Everyone we spoke to said "it's not far"...forgetting that statement is relevant to hiking ability. IT's a tough walk through a tough terrain, sand, roots and uphill. Of course Lake Michigan is always beautiful so that's the...More

Michigan natives can buy a state park pass for about $10 a year and allows entry to all state parks as often as desired. This would be great for this park as parking is limited. Walk to the beach is uphill and long, but worth...More

I will start off by saying my wife and I love to hike. The trails were great. We spent about 4 hours here just walking the different trails. Nice way to spend the afternoon.

I've been coming to the park for maybe 20+ years and this is the first time I saw cars parked for almost a half mile outside of the park. The attendants hut is never manned but was on this visit. They were collecting $9 for...More

Wanted to see some dunes, so while in Holland, visited Saugatuck Dunes State Park. Took the 'North Trail' and, according to my Fitbit, walked over 2000 steps, up and down to the sandy dunes. It's quite a work out, but well worth the adventure.

Nice secluded beach, but probably not a beach you would take small children if you need to carry a lot of items because it's a hike to the beach. Picnic area. I didn't see a whole lot to do with small children and the restrooms...More

This was my first visit to this park. They charged us $9 to get in. That gave us parking, a couple of short walking trails and a lakefront with no beach. There was a small area for picnics and a bathroom. The trails were missing...More

I spent a couple of hours here with my daughter and her family. The trail to the beach is fairly easy. The beach is beautiful/ I am sure there is more to see in this park and maybe someday I will have the privilege of...More

We hiked the beach trail, which was gorgeous. You travel through the forest to the sand where it opens to the water. It's really a stunning way to end a hike. We went back several times as we could bring our dog.
