Located at the base of Mt. Baldhead, the museum houses some nice displays about the area of Saugatuck and the Kalamazoo Lake and River. While free to the public, if you are looking for a souvenir, and you survived the climb up and down Mt. Baldhead, I'd recommend picking up a T-shirt and support the historical society. :)

Very interesting information about Saugatuck. After we left we climbed to the top of Mt. Baldy. The views were lovely. This museum has a terrific location right on the Kalamazoo River. Beautiful spot. Worth checking out if visiting Saugatuck.

Went and then wondered why. Took maybe 15 minutes to see. Pure local unimportant stuff. Stay in town and get an ice cream cone

A small building packed with history. The artwork was unique. Well worth the stop to learn the history of the town. The museum is at the bottom of Mt. Baldhead. I did not risk the walk to the top but my friend did and said it was great. It's a long hike so I would recommend the hike only for... More

Located near Mount Baldhead park. Much information about the history of the area and our environment today. Exhibits gave highlights of each era.....not too much information to keep your interest. Interesting interactive map of the area. Friendly staff available to answer questions. Hours I believe are 1200-4:00. Admission free. Optional donation jar.

This is the perfect place to learn and to see of the history of this area. They offer and show the history of the early days and of the people who came to this area to settle.

Known locally as the Pump House Museum because the building was the site of the pumps for the city's first water system, it occupies a beautiful site across the Kalamazoo River from downtown Saugatuck. Photographers, this is a great place for photos of boats on the river and in the docks. It is also at the base of Mount Baldhead,... More

This small museum is a treasure. We lost time while we visited the current exhibit on water, but there's also a wealth of capsule collections of previous exhibits. Some very talented people are behind this gem.

The museum had a small exhibit on the Kalamazoo River, concentrating on giving an initial introduction to the main economic and environmental history. This museum features a good book shop selling Saugatuck-area historical books, Spent a good hour of learning here.
