While driving on highway 28, we spotted a big sign inviting us to the “Seney National Wildlife Refuge”, so we drove several miles out of our way to the Visitor Center. It was fascinating! The volunteers were very nice and knowledgeable, they showed us a...More

We made our first trip through the refuge at 8:30am. We did the drive and it took us almost two hours. We saw a good variety of birds taking the marshland drive. Then we went to the visitor center. The workers and volunteers there were...More

The day was in the 70's and the enthusiasm of the park staff was contagious. Truly a wildlife paradise, from beavers to swans. We did get a glimpse of an eagle 🦅 as it was hunting. Worth the stop.

We have visited Seney a number of times when visiting the U.P. and enjoy it. We didn't plan well this trip, however, showing up mid morning in late July. Most birds and critters had already had breakfast and were in their cool hiding spots for...More

Seney NWR is a large refuge, almost 150 square miles, in the middle of the UP. It's criss-crossed with trails and two interlocked scenic drives, and dozens of lakes and ponds. For the average visitor, someone passing through like myself, there are a few interesting...More

I don't think so - not off the road anyway - maybe on the roads where the cars go. It's mostly water anyway.
