Found out about this state park this summer while helping friends pull a trailer out. What a gem!!! We were so fortunate, the weather was amazing. Great camp sites, lots of maple & oak trees. Some sites are more suited for tents or small trailer but 220 sites you can find a great one. Short walk to the beach which... More

We enjoyed the beach, but our camping experience was not too great. Our camp site was in a low-lying area ... and it was noticeably more buggy and muggy than the rest of the park. The ladies restroom in the campground was dirty. The filth in and around the toilets remained uncleaned during our two-night stay. -- Perhaps these things... More

We have been here many times in the past. It is only 2 hours from Chicago and is a great campground with a beautiful beach and close to nice towns like South Haven and Saugatuck. There is plenty to do. The two big downsides is the persistent noise and the beach black flies. The noise is not heard at the... More

Poor service.. Workers were not friendly at all.. Not a whole lot for kids to do there... Very disappointed... We don't plan to camp there again....was recommended to friends to try the campground out.. Wish we never did...

Beautiful park, good camp ground, easy access to lake Michigan. Clean sand beach, interesting dune for climbing. Only one drawback, the immediate proximity of Palisades Nuclear Power plant to the south the park. You can walk right up to the warning signs/fence and yes the water is quite warm there all year long.

We used to frequent this state park when we lived in Kalamazoo and it was just as we remembered it, quaint. Great picnic areas available that are shaded and convenient to the beach. If you walk south you walk towards the nuclear plant, the only positive is that the water is warmer. When you walk north the beach meets the... More

I found this trail that pretty much went straight up the side of the bluff...the view at the top was worth the sweat and the water was so blue. Lots of trails and lots of beach as well

Ok, the beach is gorgeous! Our site was ok, but quite sandy (wouldn't have been that bad if it wasn't raining when we set up our tent). We've camped at a bunch of Michigan State Park campground this summer and I have to say these were the dirtiest bathrooms yet. Some of the stalls in the bathrooms either didn't lock... More

A nice well maintained state park with a clean campground and walking distance with clean beach access. Beach access has a nice beach house which is fairly new. Campground is a little tight and compact, particularly for RVs, with a few too many cars. Tent camping is better. The main drawback is the out-of-state prices for both overnight and park... More

We had a gorgeous site, very nice accommodates for a state park, with electric. Great wash out stations and restrooms. The showers need a little more TLC, backed up quite frequently. We like to have a fire late into the night and several of us were up late (11:30, quiet time is 11:00) on Friday night, 8/5/16. We were laughing... More
