I love the tour, the history, and seeing the sites, however, it is hard for me to believe with all of the money they are making from the tours, that they can't hire someone to pick up trash along the way. If each of the tour guides bent down and picked up one piece on the tour, it would not... More

Expensive, next time we'll spend more on activities. Like staying longer in town, kayaking, hiking, biking.

This is a very unique set of buildings that provide for a multi use facility. The structure is a converted ex State hospital with tours available. On the Garden level are restaurants and retail stores that offer unique products from Christmas related items and hand made jewelry to art and hand made items from around the region. The restaurant offerings... More

Usually always stop here when I visit TC. We were lucky to make it to the farmers market this visit. All of the vendors are very friendly and most offer free samples which are delicious. We walked by Red Spire and the aroma was amazing, will definitely return there for brunch next time.

I haven't taken the tour there, but I've walked through the shops several times. There always seem to be some rather unique local shops inside. Across the parking lot we typically stop at Left Foot Charlie's and the coffee shop. Inside there is a restaurant I've been meaning to try but never seem to be there at the right time.... More

The mall is an old hospital that was converted into shops, the history is quite interesting as it was used to treat mental patients at one point. They offer tours of all the buildings or you can just check out the shops or restaurant in the main building.

We were advised to go to this place by our hotel clerk. We were amazed at how the ;place had been renovated. We spent our "budget" between the first two stores but continued on. What an amazing transformation to an institution.

We have been coming to the Traverse City area for years to enjoy all the sights. We took a mini spring break vacation and found out that the weather was calling for 35 degrees and 25 mile an hour winds. We decided to take the walking tour of Grand Traverse Commons assuming that most of it would be indoors. The... More

I thought there would be more shops and fun places to stop and have a drink, so that is probably on me, but we were excited to go out to the commons and felt underwhelmed when we left. There were a few nice stores, but nothing that wow'd us. We may return one day if we hear it has improved... More
