Although a bit pricey, my granddaughter loved this small, hands on Museum that centers on wind, waves, and water. Educational activities as well as climbing opportunities.

What an awesome afternoon. Whilst staying in Traverse City we took the kids (6years & 10months) to the Great Lakes Children's Museum. The 6 year old had lots of fun at puppets, gravity, wind and water areas and 10 month old loved the under 2 area. I would advise taking children a dry change of clothing, as the water table... More

I took my grandkids here during spring break; it was quite busy. They enjoyed themselves and there was enough to keep them busy and entertained.

We brought our three grandchildren, ages 2 3/4, 5 and 7 yrs. old. They all had a wonderful time. The water table was especially fun and the two older kids spent quite a bit of time with the wood play set. We were able to take in a craft also, which added to the fun and we brought a lunch,... More

We visited the museum on a rainy cold day in April. Our 4-year-old really enjoyed all of the hands-on imaginary play opportunities (pilot, captain, explorer). The water table was large, but still very crowded not allowing much opportunity for all children to get a chance to play. The helicopter was a favorite activity! We spent a little over an hour... The Water Table was the main attraction for our kids. They loved playing in the water, however, the table is pretty big it is pretty small in the scheme of things when there is a birthday party or other visitors. They don't make much for kids under 2. There is a small area to have pretend play in under the... More

This "museum" is located outside of town - it seems rather disjointed - tries to appeal to all ages but not many age-appropriate activities for the younger crowd. It was rather dirty - I couldn't wait to get out of there!

Great stop for us on a rainy day. Site was clean, with lots of education on local history. Overall location was small, but plenty of running room on a busy day. Our 4 year old had a blast, our 7 year old enjoyed it but was ready to go much quicker. Overall I'd say it's a solid 2 hours of... More
