Downtown Traverse City is a gem. We live in the area and we never tire of visiting downtown. There are many wonderful restaurants with great happy hour specials, tasting rooms, unique stores, a movie theater and the opera house. The Park Place hotel is within walking distance of everything and is a great place to stay if you are fortunate enough... More

After a day on the lake, walking down Front Street is the best ending for the TC day. Whether it is walking in and out of local shops or stopping in for Ice Cream or pie, it really is the place to be in TC. (when you're not on the lake of course!)

This is the primary promenade through Traverse City's downtown offering hours and hours of browsing, grazing, shopping and great movies. The restaurants with sidewalk patios make for great people watching, and the shops offer up plenty of local flavor. The State Theater is a small town gem, low prices and carefully curated movies, old and new. Between it and its'... More

No matter the time of year, or the weather, you can always enjoy the downtown. It is quaint but full of life. The restaurants can rival our big sister of Chicago!

The street is lined with unique shopping as well as some favorites. Make sure to go to Chico's (friendly staff), Haystack's, Raven's Child, Cherry Blossom Boutique, Backcountry Outfitters, Plamondon Shoes, My Stash, What to Wear, Fustini's, The Spice Shoppe, Peppercorn's, Miner's North, Cherry Republic, Nifty Things, Diversions. Found a parking spot and walked through the downtown area. Lots of shops were open in the evening. You could also hear music from some of the clubs. Good energy!

A great spot to spend some time shopping, walking and trying out new restaurants! I highly recommend spending some time here. There are so many different types of specialty shops that you don't see every day. It is well worth taking some of your visit here.

This is a traditional, one screen theatre that is supported by volunteer community members, and it runs like clockwork. From the velvet seats to the starry sky overhead, the State Theatre is not to be missed.

Tons of variety. Brewery's, shopping, Grest restaurants, theater, and more. Parking on the street is limited but there are several lots on the backside and even public ramps.

My husband travels to Traverse City on business quite often. When I ride along, I always make sure to spend some time on Front Street. From a beautifully-restored old town movie theater, a great bookstore, unique restaurants, to many cute shops, there is something for everyone! A must-see indeed!
