My wife and I took a trip to Traverse City with a suggestion from our daughter who had vacationed there. We stayed in a cozy hotel on the waterfront. There is a great walking path along the waterfront that has some wonderful views. The downtown area is vibrant and full of good shopping, restaurants, and pubs. Everything in that area... More

We come here a few times a year to do shopping on Front Street. This past weekend we went to see the tree lighting with Santa. That was alot of fun for the kids. After we hit some of the shops. We always come back!

Attractive, interesting place to spend browsing, shopping, eating and to see a show. The star attraction is the renovated historic State theater, centerpiece of the Traverse City Film Festival. It is surrounded by classic and trendy shops for kids and adults. There are many good quick eats and restarants along the stretch. Many shops put water dishes out and give... More

Downtown Traverse City is always bustling. There are great shops, restaurants and bars. From toy stores to upscale boutiques, sushi to pizza, there is something for everyone. You can try Moomers (local icecream) and there's even a few breweries nearby.

The area was totally decorated for Christmas, & very, very pretty. People were all very pleasant, and several stores were still open, with very happy people working there

We arrived at our hotel at about 4pm and went straight to Front Street. The lights were on and everywhere looked pretty. Went into a number of shops and then ate some Great Lakes' fish and drank some local beers. A very nice place even if it is out of season.

Great souvenir shopping and restaurants. Beware, businesses all close up at 5pm on weekdays. A lot of interesting places to see.

A highlight of any trip to TC is a stroll down both sides of Front St. with side meandering down Union St. and Cass St. Give yourself few hours of moseying about the shops, then eat at one of the two dozen or so LOCALLY OWNED restaurants. Very few chain stores or food stops in downtown TC, thanks to locals'... More
