Beautiful trail at this campground called Chase Point trail. It runs between two lakes on a raised up narrow stretch of land called an Esker. It is filled with Red and White pine. Gorgeous views. Beautiful sunsets. We camped here 5 nights in a travel trailer. Campsites 2, 32, 1 are the best we saw with electricity. All had the... More

Scenic is beautiful! Spent 3 nights in late July. The lake is awesome. Great fishing. Our campsite (#7) was awesome, but there are a few sites I wouldn't want to have, with very little privacy and close to the questionable bathrooms, so book early and do your research. We usually do a lot of hiking. The Chase Point hike was... More

We only had time to hike the Chase Point trail but that was an excellent choice on a hot day. The placement of much of the trail on the esker, or ridge peninsula meant there were nice breezes and few bugs. We wish we had had time to use the fishing poles offered for load free at the entrance station.... More

We just spent a night here passing through in our RV. We were in the first section and don't know what the the other/2nd Campground looked like. It's right along a nice lake and the whole Campground is in the trees. You can hardly see your neighbor etc. Very quiet even though park was nearly full and dead quiet at... More

I have motorcycle camped here twice. Once with a reservation and once as a walk-up. Both times I got a great campsite. The park itself is beautiful. Coon Lake is always very quiet and peaceful and there is a boardwalk right down by the water (for canoes or boats) that lets you get right down to the water. Facilities are... More

Scenic is one of our favorite MS State Parks, but it's starting to show it's age and the boardwalk is needing updating/replacing in places, and not just the part that was taken out by a fallen tree earlier this summer. Nice hiking, nice swimming & canoeing. Chase point is being fixed up due to erosion/stupid people issues, but is still... More

Gorgeous park in northern Minnesota. Beautiful lakes; kayak rentals available. I camped at the Chase Point campground, and the sites were nicely separated and shady. My campsite, which was reservable, was right across the road from the shore of Coon Lake--amazing views of moonrise and sunrise. Highly recommended.

Our experience camping at Chase Point Campground at Scenic State Park was great. The campsite was spacious and sheltered. The hiking trails were good. Walking out to Chase Point was very scenic, especailly with the fall colors. We also went over to the Lodge campground and it was so quiet and peacefull. The only negative was the bathroom/shower facility. Two... More

Hike to Chase Point amid beautiful red pines and native plants. Canoeing & kayaking on lakes within park a bonus!
