Located in the heart of Twin Cities, close to major freeway - 3 chairlifts, great for children beginning, and, senior citizens (special rate). Great new lodge at base. Small vertical (180 feet), but Olympian skiers have started her

Close to the twin cities, hylands is a perfect place to start skiing. However, I got no attention from instructors and they have poor control of entrance and exit. There are good options for experienced, but the strong point is the spot for children and people not used to ski often.

Skiing is something new for my family and Hyland Ski Area was a good place to ski without a huge crowd. I found the lift tickets to be less expensive than some other areas that we had skied at. There is even an evening price of about $17.00 for a lift ticket. Since we were not all about "black diamond"... More

Extremely rude and arrogant management. Very unclear rules about tickets and rental costs. Absolutely not recommended for first timers who are just looking for an evening of fun, unless you want to be duped, confused, threatened by authority and embarrassed in public.

We live close by so we've been going to Hyland for years. Just recently the chalet has been beautiful renovated, more or less rebuilt. Since the renovation there has been a huge amount of improvements. Much more space to hang out and eat snacks and lunch from the new cafeteria. Rental and locker area have plenty of breathing space. Relatively... More

This place is tons of fun for children of all ages. We bring all of the kids (3-19) and everyone enjoys going. The big kids climb around with the little kids and like that they fit and they younger kids love climbing and exploring. The ropes and climbing areas are closed in so you don't have to worry about the... More

We recently enrolled our 6 year old in ski lessons at Hyland and found it to be an affordable fun place. The instructors did a great job and had him skiing fairly well by the end of his last lesson. My wife and I decided to ski during the 2 hours our son got instruction. The runs are short and... More

This is a ski hill for beginners. If your from out of town and want to ski somewhere close by and want a little more of a challenge go to Buck Hill in Burnsville. Hyland is a nice small hill in West Bloomington but they only have a few runs, a couple are big but not "big" they are average... More
