This place was pretty small. I live in a small city, and our children's museum is 3-4x bigger than this place. I like the build a race car stuff, and the building bricks was cool. Certainly a fun place to go for kids to play. We got in for free, (we are members at our local children's museum, and this... More

We took our grandson here for his 5th birthday and he really enjoyed it. $8.50 admission each which I thought was a little steep but not terrible. There are a lot of interactive displays that the children can play with and learn from. If you have a child that likes building things than this would definitely be worth the visit.... More

We came during the Smithsonian Free Museum day so we did get free admission. If you are expecting this place to be like Children's Museum, you will be disappointed. To be fair, The Works doesn't compare itself to the Children's Museum in any way. All activities are geared towards the Engineering field and for the most part, they did a... More

This is a fun little place to check out. They have lots of fun stations for different kind of experiments. The staff is very engaged and interactive throughout the entire stay. I would most definitely recommend going here for an afternoon of fun and learning for young and old.

Great hands on science fun for kids. This place covers a lot that the children's museum in St Paul does not like smaller hands on exhibits. My 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son spend hours here. Its another piece of the puzzle and well worth the yearly membership along with the zoo and children's museum.

I had never been here before and decided to take my 6 year old nephew. He enjoyed the build your own car out of K'nex and then racing them but there were not a lot of things to do. His favorite part was watching the balls race through the large K'nex display in the lobby. He would have loved to... More

I have wanted to take my child here for a few years, he just turned 7 and I was told that would be a great age to take him. It isn't great, I'd say its better for 3-5 years of age. He was bored out of his mind, many of the table stations they had like the light table, color... More

We went to The Works Museum this past weekend for my son's 13th birthday. We had kids ages 13, 10, & 4. The favorite of the eldest was the binary switch math activity. We also enjoyed the programmable bug.

About six years ago...I took my now 15 year old here. I took my three year old here just the other day. What's funny is...a decent amount of the exhibits were the same ones they had the first time around. This is fine and all...but they could have used some updating. They did have a few different things...like a motion... More

Not the best place. There is not a lot of things to do its so boring and I didn't have any fun with the things they had. I wouldn't recommend this for a family trip or anything.
