Just returning from a one night girls tent camping trip from JCSP, I must say it was a beautiful, scenic retreat with many possibilities. A few more days in the area would have been great, but we managed to do some hiking along the Saint...More

We hiked 10 miles in Jay Cooke State Park. Great trails that are well maintained and neat things to see. Nice to get away from the busyness of life and get out in nature.

I did 2 days of camping at Jay Cooke. The St Louis River provided gorgeous views for hiking through the park. I felt like I was away in the mountains somewhere. The park provides many miles of hiking and bike trails are plentiful. I did...More

We recently camped her for 4 days. The campsites are separated from each other by plenty of woods and brush. It gives a feeling of being away from other people but yet you have the security of knowing that they are there if you need...More

Visiting Jay Cooke feels like visiting the Northwest. The terrains and river are beautiful and there are plenty of trails to roam about. No trip would be complete without walking over the swing bridge! Top Tip: Check out the buildings built by the MN CCC.

I love Jay Cooke. It's the first place I "backcountry camped", saw a black bear and her 3 cubs, got woken up by porcupines rubbing up against our tent (thought the bear had come back!). It's a typically quick drive from the cities (not counting...More

We spent almost 4 hours at the park. It's a beautiful park with a lot of trails. The employee in the headquarters suggested a 3.4 mile route which we attempted but could not complete because some of the River Trail was way too muddy, and...More
