The only aquarium in the U.S. that focuses on freshwater exhibits, this three-story waterfront structure is ready for public viewing after a year and a half and almost $34 million. Plenty of interactive exhibits and re-created habitats are fun and educational for children.

Overall it was decent but small. The only thing I would recommend is...that Aquariums are geared towards young ones. Their attention span usually doesn't support the amount of reading required at this small aquarium. That would be one of my suggestions. I thought it was a bit pricey to get in. A bit pricey for parking. I am under the... More

I found this place an average place to visit. While it's location provides a great view of Lake Superior, it seems a little overpriced unless you buy a membership or buy a pack that allows you to do a harbor cruise, railroad trip and the aquarium visit. Not as many types of fish and water creatures as I expected.

The aquarium has a $5 parking fee and an $18 entrance fee. Something interesting to do on a weekend and spend a few hours. There are many native fish, but there are also some more exotic fish as well. Good place to go if you have kids, and is a very kid friendly aquarium. At the end, you can stick... More

We bought a yearly membership. Our little one never gets bored coming here. It's an awesome way for her to burn some energy off and learn something at the same time. The membership paid for itself in a couple of visits. Highly recommended!

We buy the membership each year and take our grand kids there as often as we can. They have a lot of programs and interesting things to do for kids, hands on experiences and a great way to spend a rainy or cold day.

You are already in the vicinity. So why would you miss this attraction when you are attempting to see all Duluth as to offer.

Free parking in the January (probably because no one will sit in the little booth and freeze). Ask for a discount when you get inside because the ticket people are nice and warm. A little pricey for the size of the aquarium. Enjoyed the otter feeding at 11am. Very active pair of otters and a decent presentation by Emma. Emma... More

If you love fresh water fish than this is the place to go!. The aquariums are very impressive in size and they have a good variety of things to see and do. My kids love the pet a fish area where they have sturgeon in a smaller tank to get up close and personal with. The price is a little... More

We typically visit aquariums on our trips. This aquarium has both fresh and salt water exhibits, though most are related to the Great Lakes or the Amazon River. My son is 10 and enjoyed the sturgeon touch tank most! Snowflake was quite friendly. We were on our way up to the Gunflint Trail so this was a nice break from... More

This is always a fun place to go with kids. They loved the fish and they even have a new exhibit and the kids got to touch a fish. Made for an extra fun time.
