The Union Depot is now a center for art and culture in addition to having the historic trains. The Ojibway gallery is particularly well done and there is a super heroes display on main floor. I particularly liked the replica of President Lincoln's funeral car. I believe it is at the depot for a little while longer and well worth... More

Walk through real railroad cars, visit the little shops, take the train ride, and look at the historical pictures. Don't Miss the picture of the Engine plowing through snow higher than the engine. Brrrrrrrrrrr. Don't miss the dining cars which contain place settings of restaurant china commissioned for the railroads including Shenango.

This is one of my grandson's favorite places to go in Duluth. He is twelve now, and we have been going to the Museum 1-2 times a year since he was three. There is so much to see and do for all age levels, including adults.

This was about my 5th trip to the museum. Attended the commissioning of the Soo Line 320 locomotive. The variety of equipment and historical memorabilia is extensive and very educational. You also have easy access to railroad tours/rides in the summer months. HIGHLY recommended.

At the museum this January to work on one of the museum's steam locomotives to get it ready for summer operation. Museum has many locomotives on display and operates various trains in the spring, summer, and fall

I love trains and so I really appreciate this museum. Take some time and read the text at each exhibit and you come to understand how important the railroads were in developing the nation. We have visited the LSRM twice and I look forward to a third visit.

Thank Thaddeus W
