This is a MUST SEE when visiting Duluth! The history behind the bridge is fascinating. View ships, seagulls, people, Lake Walk and beautiful Lake Superior. Remember to tour the museum for the history.

I have always loved the aerial lift bridge. This year we went under it on the Vista Fleet. Love hearing the whistles as boat enter and leave the harbor.

We came to Duluth to tour the Glensheen Historic Estate. Our hotel turned out to be right next to the lift bridge. It seemed an oddity at first. Then we saw it in action. Wow. It was an astounding sight to see it going up...More

A visit to the Duluth Canal Waterfront is not complete without visiting the area that includes this bridge ... and visit the park area and Army corps of Engineers building at its Duluth end

When you visit Duluth, you MUST visit the lift bridge and watch it rise and drop as enormous cargo ships pass though the canal. It is very impressive indeed. I'm pretty sure your trip to Duluth is not official unless you have experienced the lift...More

Impressive bridge day or night time when it is lit up. Try to catch a ship going through and the bridge lifting. You can hear the alarms and verbal instructions from a good distance away.

So neat to see this bridge go up and down. We were fortunate that it was busy the afternoon we were there, plus got to see a really long freighter go through.

This is a good place to eat, and there is a lot of history in mainly the top floor of the building. I don't remember if they take reservations, but think so. Strongly recommend calling them at Grandma’s - Canal Park 522... More
