This is an amazing landmark for Duluth's history. The bridge lifts up for ships and boaters to travel in and out of Lake Superior. Years ago they would allow you to ride up when the ships would come through. It's a beautiful bridge and more amazing at night when lite up. You can enjoy it when you take a stroll... More

You could say the Lift Bride "anchors" Duluth. It's in Canal Park where you'll find shopping, restaurants, and a museum. It's fun for people of all ages to watch the gigantic (and even small) ships pass through the lift bridge. It's also fun to walk across. This is a must do if you are visiting Duluth.

Nothing captures Duluth's essence and spirit more than seeing the Lift Bridge in action. Whether it be for a lake ship or a salty, watching a ship enter or leave the harbor is a unique and mind blowing experience. Don't miss it.

Fun to watch the bridge go up and the ships go thru. We walked over a couple of times and found it interesting the way the bridge was raised and lowered.

Very cool landmark and iconic for this city. Even though it was cold and therefore not operational it is beautiful!

I got to observe this bridge from a distance while set up at the 2016 Tall Ships show. It was fascinating to watch!

Fantastic. Great great choices of places to eat, shop and board walk, Beach walk, lake view, city view and park point is on the other side of the bridge. Beach walk there can be miles long ( this part is all sand, not for handy cap people).

Since their are no other bridges like this one it is an amazing thing to observe ship traffic be sure to visit the Army Corp of Engineers museum to get a list of times that the ship's will be coming in. Maybe you'll get to see a salty.

You must cross over-- at the end of the road it will take you to beautiful uncluttered beaches. Rock hounds will go crazy hunting for semi precious stones. Bring a picnic--we always get subway and some drinks. The kids love playing in the water you can walk forever. Sometimes there might be a volleyball game going on down the way.... More

The Bridge connects over the channel to a residenceal area that extends to a Park at the very end. Do not miss the drive. Second and most important catch that ship coming in from someplace afar, as the Bridge Operator and Ship Captain greet each other on arrival. You will be only feet from a 1000 footer as it passes...
